In fact, I'm considering a vacation there after the COVID crisis subsides. I can't believe I've gone my entire life without visiting the birthplace of American democracy.

...I've done so several times the past few years, and have loved every second of it. Don't miss the on-again, off-again bus tour; the Zoo; walking along the Schuylkill; visiting the Rocky statue at the Art Museum; Rittenhouse Square; and if you have the time, going up to Germantown and the Main Line.

Tried to post a picture, but I guess I'm not sure how. I believe if I had wanted to, they would have let me stick my tongue on the Liberty Bell. (Ref: How I Met Your Mother).

It is a beautiful city, I was there for a conference, and got an amazing rate on a bed and breakfast in an 18th century home. The B&B was delightful. I don't know when I've ever felt so pampered! Down bedding and all. And in coming and going from the conference site, history all around.

that my 8th great-grandfather built the first paper mill in the colonies in Philadelphia. I hope to make a pilgrimage when the pandemic is finally over.

I grew up not far from Philly on the Jersey side. Lived and worked in Philadelphia for a number of years.

And today? I love what I'm seeing in the streets, an expression of sheer joy and pride.

You go, Philly!
