I guess I dont know why in GA the other Senate race had 3 Democrats running?
Wasnt a primary, so I am confused and I suppose I should know.
The results are
Runoff
A runoff election will be held in January to determine the winner.
Candidates % Votes Winner
Raphael Warnock 32.9% 1,609,706
Kelly Loeffler * 25.9% 1,269,627
Doug Collins 20.0% 977,704
Deborah Jackson 6.6% 321,971
Matt Lieberman 2.8% 135,449
* Incumbent
98% of estimated votes counted
What? I see a story where Lieberman was asked to back out and didnt, is this Joe's son? Oh god, it is isnt it. What is the reason Deborah stayed in? Does the runoff now include only the top two? We can win if so.

(82,849 posts)Loeffler was appointed by the governor to fill the seat temporarily (like McSally in Arizona). So this is a replacement race and anyone can run in it. If no one wins a majority of the vote, the top two proceed to a run-off. Even if Jackson and Lieberman had dropped out, Warnock would still not have gotten 50% of the vote.

(82,849 posts)I confess Abrams wasn't on my radar when she ran for governor, but since then I've been nothing but impressed by her. Her spirit and cool professionalism make her a great leader, and if she's involved in the two run-off races, it would be foolish to bet against her.

(5,255 posts)And we can absolutely win against a cartoonish, inept, unelected opponent. Rev. Warnock is an outstanding candidate.
