from the same people who got off on calling us condescending names like "snowflake" and "buttercup" and who wore those cheap T-shirts that said "Fuck your feelings".... I've already seen postings on FB from Trumpists whining about the "supposedly tolerant left". Well, take a look at the last four years and then take a look in the mirror!

23. Some of those Trump T-shirts will live in infamy. "I'd rather be Russian than Democrat"...

...on two grizzled guys on the far side of middle age at the RNC in 2015 was such a direct parallel to the John Birch/Barry Goldwater slogan “I’d rather be dead than Red” that it was a real jolt.

Were they old enough to directly remember those events, how agitated their parents/older brothers were by the Commie threat? Were they Goldwater fans in high school themselves, or just a few years too young? They certainly looked like retirees. Just how far down the RW rabbit-hole do you have to fall to imagine this is a clever way to pwn the libs? When the hell did this become a thing? Were these guys some kind of Russian plant? That last bit was because even then we knew that Trump’s campaign was crawling with Russians.

From there it was just a short step to T-shirts proclaiming “Fck your Feelings.”

The “I’d rather be ...” T-shirt was, in its own loopy and hateful way, an image far worse than the guy from the Bush years with the mullet and the homemade “Get a Brain, Morans” sign. At least I had no doubt he was an all-American yokel.

So, yeah, now someone on the far side of reality wants us to remember we are squishy snowflakes and spare their fee-fees and forget that the side they are on has morphed into a death cult.

Uh, no. Personally, I think the two images I described belong in the meme-file where they can be produced any time as a reminder of what Trump unleashed.

Meanwhile, we’ll do what we always do and try to make sure they have affordable healthcare and housing along with the rest of us.
