But a GOP controlled Senate will make it harder for President Biden to undo some of Trump's policies. Biden can do executive orders but legislation will be much harder if the GOP controls the Senate.

For Trump's future (as he may see it), he needs the two candidates to run on his backing and win. So he may block them from trying to run without his backing, even if it reduces their chance of winning.
