Where's Pence? Most Likely, He's Holed up in His Residence,

waiting for Trump's call. Pence will say,

"Sure thing, Donald. Bring me your resignation letter, and I'll bring you my pardon statement. As soon as you resign and I'm sworn in, I'll pardon you. I wanna be the 46th President so bad. And Mother wants to be First Lady even more, even for a month or two. Give me a call when you're ready to resign. We can take care of it right away."

There’s no pardon for future charges. So, Pence can pardon all he wants. January 20 will come and then Trump’s legal position will become interesting. Especially on the state level.

A pardon doesn't work for crimes that might be committed in the future, but apparently it does apply to crimes committed in the past but not yet charged.

While the pardon can't reach state charges, he can be pardoned in advance for federal charges.

just for clarity. You can't issue a pardon for future crimes. That would be a carte blanche, which isn't recognized under our laws. Well, maybe in Louisiana......

He can be pardoned for crimes previously committed - even if no charges have et been filed. He cannot be pardoned for crimes not yet committed.

God knows he’s been exposed enough with no mask. Would explain the disappearance. Probably Mother too.

Lots of people misread that. Trump was not convicted by the Senate. If he had been he'd already be gone.

He thinks that he can pardon himself; he's said as much. I think that's much more likely, though I'm not convinced that will happen, either.

He shouldn't depend on that. He needs a real pardon to get rid of liability for his Federal crimes.

It would mean accepting defeat and forever brand him not only a loser, but a quitter.

I'm not convinced that his sense of self-preservation is stronger than his ego and his desire to protect the brand. I'm also not convinced that he believes he did anything from which a pardon would be required to save him from prosecution. Much depends on how much of his self-delusion is real and how much of it is an act.
