Forgive and Forget?

I'm starting to become increasingly concerned that Biden and others are pushing us to forgive and forget what the Republicans have done the last 4 years.

With trump already asking for "concessions" we all know that means he is asking Biden to pardon him.

I worry this will end up like Bush and we all just be asked to pretend the last four years didn't happen and "move on".
Fuck that.

forgive racists and bigots?...never!..forgiving the odious trump cretins makes us look weak and it gives them carte blanche to spread their poison over and over again..if we fell for their phony mea culpas the first time why not forgive a second and third time?...absolving the trump-humpers for coming so close to destroying the very fabric of our country is akin to forgiving a quack doctor for amputating the wrong foot...he's learned his lesson and promises to not do it again...fuck them all!

Crimes were committed. Trump and his administration
committed crimes against humanity and should be held accountable. Anything less than full and complete accountability is unacceptable.

Then this shouldn’t be an issue. Dems historically seek unification while fighting dirty behind the scenes. It’s one thing we’re actually good at fighting rethugs.

I'm not willing to do either because justice matters and we must prove that we mean it. We let Wcheney off the hook too and now look what happened. No fucking way do they not be held legally accountable.

You, we, I, no one should forgive multiple crimes against humanity.

I don't think Biden will actually give trump a pardon.

Unfortunately I do genuinely worry that we will be expected to "just move on" and that is what I cannot accept.

Its incredibly upsetting to be asked to ignore children being locked up like animals. That is just one of many things I cannot forgive or forget.

I also genuinely worry the harm this will do to the Democratic Party. The divisions this will foment is very real and significant.

Oh yeah, they learn their lessons, as Sen. Collins reminded us. They learn they can get away with murder, like Nixon cozying up to Saigon, Reagan cozying up to the Mullahs, Bush the Lesser getting caught with his Lees around his ankles reading a comic book as 9/11 approached and drove us into Overreaction Overdrive, the Neocons sucking us deeper into the sandbox, you name it. The ONLY THING that motivates any of these Crooks, Liars and Thieves is CONSEQUENCES. How quick we are to cut them slack, how quickly the nation forgets one Long, National Nightmare after another. For God’s sake, make the pricks pay. Teddy Roosevelt said we don’t need to ask anyone to follow the law, and ignorance is no excuse (don’t think for a second that they are unaware of the criminality of their actions, look at the lengths they go to to hide evidence and throw sand in the umps’ faces) so let’s P R O S E C U T E!

Foreign policy blunders and political malpractice come
with the territory, but violations of federal and state law, and widespread violations of civil rights law are something else entirely. NO Democratic administration, whatever its foibles, has been anywhere near as RICO-able as these serial criminals and their co-conspirators. The evidence is there to be found and brought to a grand jury. Don’t be afraid of toothless threats of paybacks or fear of tit-for-tat, that’s just the ol’ False Equivalence by another name.

my enemy when they actively work at killing me, taking my ACAC, ignoring the pandemic, sending no help, taking away women and girls rights, allowing police immunity or whatever it is called and on it goes. If not my enemy then what?

Don't ask the American people to pretend we did not listen to 4 years of racist, misogynist, homophobic statements. If not my enemy, then what?

Four years of Trump stealing, breaking the law and giving my hard earn very few tax dollars to himself and his rich buddies taking food off my table, if not my enemy....

Pelosi gets it. Warren. Biden needs to understand.
