Trump has to ask for one. SOS can also decide to do one, and apparently he decided to do so.

Trump can ask for one. Why SOS wants to do it before Trump even asked is not clear to me.

currently at 10,353. A few votes are reportedly outstanding, but the AJC doesn't know how many.

A recount is expected, but fwiw Stacey Abrams says it won't change Biden's win in GA.

I'm wondering if that might encourage voters in the senate runoffs in January...!

Arizona may end the issue all totally, looks like there is no way Trump catches Biden there, in fact, Biden is more likely to expand his lead.

The invalid ballots (ones marked wrong or which won't scan or can't be 'cured') aren't going to be in the batches they will scan, so the scanning will happen relatively quickly.

He can make the rules as he sees fit to help Trump, that is why we should have kept him out of office in 2018.

Looks like he will just barely (20K to 40K) lose NC. At this point it is just the long wait for all this to certified and official.

The slow part was unpacking the ballots, scanning them, curing them (the ones that didn't scan properly, and have to have their little circles filled in better under two observers).

The ballots that are stacked and retained are all ready to go, they just have to throw them in to the scanners.

I expect the recount will go in a couple of days at most.
