My own sister got all butt-hurt because Trump lost and came on my wall and started talking shit and then when I responded, she unfriended me. What a load of crap! She needs to remember that just because you delete something, it doesnt mean its gone!

(2,626 posts)Many Trump supporters will likely go through a process not unlike grieving. It's going to be really hard for them because they've given themselves over to him, lock, stock and barrel. It's almost like he rewired their brains.
And now he's going on and on about the elections being rigged and of course their rewired brains believe him.
Hopefully with time they'll come to grips with it but they may never understand what the cost would have been to our Democracy if he had won the election.
My sister is a Trump supporter too. I understand.

(3,764 posts)She wasnt butt hurt that Trump lost but deleted her posts and unfriended me because I cussed her out. I dont consider asking someone wtf to be cussing someone out and I consider her post at least a little threatening. She disagreed and said she was done. Im not sure Im done. Still mulling over other things.

(2,626 posts)family relationships and friendships. I hope that with time you and your sister can work things out at least to where you can talk to each other again. Things may never go back to the way they were but just to be able to have a conversation about any random thing isn't as painful as not speaking at all.
It may take a while. Let things cool down. We've all got healing to do from the horrors of the last 4 years. It's one reason I'm so grateful that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris were chosen by the people to lead us toward a brighter future. It's been a gloomy 4 years. Time to turn on the Lights!
Here's to a brighter future for everyone.

(8,168 posts)Apparently I've already cleaned up my feed, it's quiet with support for Biden from people who never commented on political posts previously.
The guns thing is so weird also since you can get as many as you want any time you want. So silly.

(32,610 posts)You can block people if you don't want to see their posts on your timeline. You can also cancel notifications from such people. You can hide the fact that you are on Facebook from certain friends, or as many people are you choose. (In other words you're on FB but this person doesn't know, everybody else does know.) You can "take a break" for 30 days or longer from any person, and not see their posts or messages. As a final straw, you can "unfriend" anybody and banish them forever.

(3,381 posts)So if they come onto MY page, I take offense to that. It is disrespectful and I will unfriend them. And magically, after deleting all of them from my FB, I no longer see trump/Q/GOP bullshit in my feed. It has been glorious and I would do it all over again. I find I habe not missed a single person I have deleted (and I deleted 1/3 -1/2).

(14,853 posts)My evangelical sister voted for the idiot too, but she might as well be living in a convent given her devotion to the Bible. I think she's a nut, but I'm thankful that she didn't get caught up in the Trump hate-rallies and conspiracies. We'll surely remain civil to each other.
