1) If voting is supposed to be so dependent on knowledge of what others think (according to the linked article) then why the need for secret ballots? Why not simply have an election period and have all voters decree their selection and attest to it by voting day deadline? Imagine that...an election where the decisions of other citizens start to influence the outcome more than the $$$$$ infused into political ads alone?

2) Polling and electronic voting machines seem to have a VERY curious locus...where one goes up (access to touch screen voting only, no paper trails) the success of the other goes waaaay down (polling seems to not reflect the collected totals in those situations...)

So that there is no intimidation or patriarchy against women. I do agree there should be a paper ballot backup for the machines

I personally think there was ballot stuffing via machine code. Have the machines in curious cases been examined. I Still cannot accept there was 70,000,000 of them, I just cant.
