McConnell (R-Ky.) said from the floor of the Senate that the president is 100 percent within his right to pursue recounts and litigation. McConnell did not repeat Trumps baseless assertions that fraud had cost him the election, but he said he had met with Attorney General William P. Barr earlier in the day and supports the presidents right to investigate all claims of wrongdoing.

(13,412 posts)Keeping the racist, ignorant rank and file deplorables mad about the election will make them more likely to turn out in January to vote for the two insider trading Republicans on the ballot in Georgia. Were it not for that double run-off election, DC Republicans would have abandoned the orange piece of shit.

(15,273 posts)his cultists, without which, they cannot win. The problem with this thinking is that whatever hold Trump has on these voters, it's not transferable to "not Trump" even if "not Trump" espouses exactly the same rhetoric and policy.
In Dickens' novel "Our Mutual Friend", there's a scene where the villian and the school master fight and fall into the river. The school master embraces the villian tightly and they both drown, but the heroine is saved. That's how I see the relationship between between Rs and Trump, both in a death embrace with neither planning to release the other.
