Even then, it will take years to restore the DoJ reputation. Reputations take years to build but can be destroyed almost instantly.

(9,313 posts)The problem isn't the need for a smooth transition. We are inheriting a building that has been infested with rats and poison ivy. . . where it hasn't been completely gutted.
Unfortunately, democrats have never been very effective at "pest and weed control" when they take over power from a Republican administration. (While the Republicans are utterly ruthless in purging Dems and sane people.)
Biden's "bipartisan" talk makes me extremely nervous. Trump minions, cronies, and the hundreds of vassals -- or simply idiots -- that have infiltrated the executive branch must be purged, not "worked with.
