Trump’s disdain for said people combined with the GOP’s fulsome (and people are saying possibly sexual) embrace of everything about the rotund tangerine lump of clag and his klan, can, if weaponised correctly, be an electoral millstone for a long, long time.

If I’m on a campaign and looking for something to attack a senator or congressperson on, it is perhaps as potent an attack as any. Even if the individual in person didn’t explicitly endorse his behaviour pre and post election, it is fair game and something that will resonate all the more loudly when Trump himself is not around to drown it out from the White House.

If Democrats are bold enough to make this their go-to line of attack for ANYONE bearing the sign of the elephant, it can - like the cry of socialism! from the right - be made to stick, and while deprogramming the cult of Trump will take time, the Republican Party becoming the explicitly anti-veteran party could hurt them up and down tickets for an indefinite period of time.

The military is very diverse and not monolithic. They are intelligent folks of all backgrounds and ethnicities and can spot phony patriots a mile away. Trump and Republicans loath the military. They loath them because they can’t control them in the way they want.

Georgia can be ours, and the military vote is crucial.
