"SNIP.....

Much was made on Monday of a joint statement from Republican Georgia Sens. Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue, which went after Georgia’s Republican Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and demanded his resignation. On Tuesday, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that President Donald Trump and his “top allies” were the driving force behind the joint statement.

As you may know, Loeffler and Perdue are headed to runoff elections against Democrats Rev. Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff, respectively. The results of these elections will have major implications for Senate business over the next two years during a Joe Biden administration.

So what was the deal with the decidedly Trumpian approach to trashing Raffensperger? If AJC’s report is accurate and to be believed, the Republican senators did this to appease the president and president’s allies in order to avoid the threat of negative tweets that might undermine their chances in runoff elections [emphasis ours]:

It was a brazen effort to appease Trump, who has falsely claimed electoral fraud despite no evidence of any wrongdoing as he and his supporters try to discredit Biden.

We’re told the president and his top allies pressured the two Republican senators to take this step, lest he tweet a negative word about them and risk divorcing them from his base ahead of the consequential runoff.

Using them to help destroy Democracy and giving in to dictator wanna be trump will undermine them winning their own runoffs.

4. If Georgia refuses to certify the electionresults, how can there be a runoff?

Will Georgia end up with no seated Senators if Georgia refuses to certify the election results?

Will Georgia have no seats in the House of Representatives, if they refuse to certify the election results?

No expert on this stuff, just wondering.

5. Why in the world do you think they won't certify the results???

The SoS, and even that criminal Kemp, stated there is no fraud, and they will have the final count and then do a recount. It isn't going to be a month-long recount.

I don't trust Republicans to be honorable, and I don't care about what they say, because what they say is meaningless.

It is what they do that is important.

Both of Georgia's current Senators are asking the Georgia SOS to resign. Georgia's Republican Representatives are asking the Governor to investigate election fraud.

So I'm wondering if they realize that if the election in Georgia is not certified, they do not get seated.

“If Loefler/Perdue aren’t strong enough to stand up for themselves against Trump, how do you expect them to stand up for the people of Georgia?”

Time to find some new friends and spend time in rehab. Dry out. I mean what's the point of becoming a Senator unless you have some autonomy?

I guess that's only us though.

You know, dignity, self-respect, and competence.

That will help. Also, some excellent people on the ground in GA organizing and doing what they do.

But, yeah... I smell nastiness on the horizon.

The stakes are so high.

I am already so very proud of our field. It looks exactly the way these things are meant to be. If we aren't successful, it won't be because we did something wrong.

Everyone around Trump is doing things to appease him. He is a bully, so he will bully people in an attempt t get his way. Let's hope his tantrums destroy his crooked party right along with his own self. I just hope the rest of the country doesn't sustain any more damage.
