I first thought it was an ad blocker, but many people not using them are having the same issue. Twitter must have changed sumthin to force you to their site.

(using direct internet links).
The other thing you can check is whether or not the link you are trying to access is to the mobile version, which I've found will either not come up or render correctly from the browser unless I go into the URL address and delete out the "mobile" part.
