Trump voters sue to stop PA certification, say will provide the evidence later. Not the Onion

https://www.rawstory.com/2020/11/i-have-never-seen-this-before-legal-expert-stunned-by-argument-in-latest-trump-voter-fraud-lawsuit/

A lawsuit filed by Trump voters in Pennsylvania has taken a novel approach by asking the courts to delay certification of the state’s election results — and then promising to deliver evidence that would justify that decision in a future lawsuit.

Election law attorney Marc Elias on Friday flagged what he believes is an unprecedented argument in a Pennsylvania voter fraud lawsuit in which the plaintiffs say they “intend” to provide proof of their claims at some point in the future.

Their lawyer should be disbarred. This is getting absurd.

Trump campaign drops Arizona lawsuit requesting review of ballots

Source: CNN

(CNN)Lawyers for the Trump campaign have dropped a lawsuit seeking a review of all ballots cast on Election Day after finding that the margin of victory for the presidential contest in Arizona could not be overcome.

The Trump campaign filed the lawsuit on Saturday alleging some voters were confused on Election Day and feared that their ballots were not counted if the vote tabulation machines classified their ballots as overvotes. They were seeking a hand review of any ballots flagged by the machine as overvotes alleging it could result in thousands of votes for President Donald Trump.

CNN has projected that President-elect Joe Biden will win the state.

This story is breaking and will be updated.

Based on the PA elections site, Biden is up by 59,230 and almost at 50%.

but at least they seem to have some instinct for self-preservation.

fewer than 200 is not thousands.

Aside from the ridiculous notion that the ballots were flagged as over-votes and the voters were not told of the implications (the over-voted race will not count), and were not given the opportunity to correct.

The machines flag ballots - and ask for an affirmative decision to proceed anyway - when there is an overvote. If you choose not to proceed, you fix your ballot and try again.

You just need to keep filing suits. Losing drives more contributions.

Not saying that’s the plan, but there is no downside to trump for filing frivolous suits.

Tying things up in court is a strategy that has worked for him.

It’s all just second nature to him.

Fri Nov 13, 2020, 02:44 PM
Nov 2020

from thegrio.com:

More than half of any donation for Donald Trump’s “election defense” fund could go toward paying down debt from the president’s campaign, according to the fine print written on emails sent to donors.

Part of the reason Trump won’t concede is narcissism.

But it’s also about money.

He can raise a lot of money convincing millions of people that he needs cash to expose the biggest fraud in American history.

If he concedes, that grift is over.

— Judd Legum (@JuddLegum) November 7, 2020
Demanding a recount in Wisconsin and other battleground states that delivered a victory to Biden on Saturday, Trump and his campaign say that there are too many “irregularities” with Wisconsin’s ballots to trust the outcome. But the Trump campaign has not produced any evidence that supports the accusation.

They were kids in the 30s, grew up on a small farm in Kansas. Whenever we had family get-togethers, part of the memories passed around was teasing him with stories about whenever they played a game, if he were losing, he would always try to change the rules.

This election has reminded me a lot of those stories.

If they are seeking injunctive relief (maintaining the status qo), part of the basis of proving the right to injunctive relief is proving a likelihood of success on the merits.

That is, at a minimum, walking right up to the Rule 11 (sanctions) canyon and peering over the edge.
