is one of the reasons we, as a Populace, were willing to elect Barack Obama in the first place. After 8 years of DimSon, we were ready for some Smart to be put back in charge of OUR Executive Branch. =)

and that's a damn dangerous thing to be running against. It's like being a boxer and thinking it's a good idea to get into the ring with Ali or Tyson; even if you KNOW you're just doing it for the money and you're going to lose, it can't be a fun prospect to look forward to.

I thought he was going to have to fall all over himself trying to be genial.

So did we. But then, we were convinced by polling that said he was going to be seen as arrogant no matter what performance he gave in the debate. And then, that morning at 3:10, my phone rings, and it's Toby Ziegler. He says, "Don't you get it? It's a gift that they're irreversibly convinced that he's arrogant 'cause now he can be." If your guy's seen that way, you might as well knock some bodies down with it.

He speaks elegantly and intelligently enough to pull something like that off. He might do very well being on the defensive tonight.

The part when his wife cuts off his tie is one of my favorites of the whole series. She is absolutely maniacal.

Love it to bits. Have all 7 seasons on DVD.

I love Toby especially.

That show kept me going during the shrub years.

Republicans always whittle the list of "safe" moderators down to just Jim Lehrer. There's simply too many fact-bound reporters they can't trust to roll over.
