1. Too lazy to look it up, but isn't there some treason thing he can't pardon? And, of course...

New York leads maybe 20 states that could put legal hooks in him, pardon or not.

I'm fairly convinced he will try to pardon himself, but that will be very risky for him.

I hope he gambles and loses.

With this Supreme Court who knows, but a reasonable court could take the view that a "pardon" by definition has to come from another person.

Certainly those who value "original intent" would have to agree that the founders never wanted a tyrant to be able to commit overt crimes and then escape punishment through self-pardon. That said, it seems many who claim to value original intent actually are full of crap.
