Military vote numbers

Hi. Does anyone have any data on how the military voted this year?

My son in law thinks if there is a coup that the military will back trump. I was telling him I heard the military broke for Biden but he wants to know where I got my info from. If I tell him it’s from DU he will disregard it. I haven’t found anything doing a search.

Having been in the military - if their is a coup, the military will do what the Colonels decide - and that will be on the side of the Constitution. The Corporation has not to date shown any inclination to support Trump as he has disrespected the institution every chance he’s gotten. Do not forget the Kurds, the military does not do Transactional relations.

Out of a batch of approximately 5,000 overseas and damaged absentee ballots counted on Friday in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, nearly 80% broke in Biden's favor, according to local NBC affiliate WPXI.

but also gov't worker types that lean liberal.

We need more data, but I do think Biden is likely to have done well with military, if polls about how Donnie is viewed (negatively) amongst active military members is correct.

8. The military polls flopped from favoring Trump in 2016 to Biden in 2020.

Exit polling from Edison Research (which surveyed voters who cast ballots in person and by mail) indicated that military and veteran voters were more supportive of Trump (52 percent) than Biden (45 percent).

Both of those numbers echo results of a Military Times poll released last month, which showed a 52-42 split among likely veteran voters. However, within that group, younger veterans were more likely to favor Biden (51 percent to 40 percent in favor of Biden among veterans 34 to 54 years old) than older veterans (59 percent to 38 percent among veterans 55 years and older).

In 2016, exit polls showed Trump easily outdistanced Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton among veterans, with a 60 percent to 34 percent advantage.

I remember in 2004, despite being a combat hero, Kerry only got something like 25% of the military vote.

Remember also alot of the military are more diverse now (more PoC and women) which likely helps us.

That was actually one of the grounds the GOP used to challenge the vote counting in Michigan!

So yes, of course overseas ballots include a lot more than military. But judging by how shocked the GOP observer was by how many (80%!!!) of the military ballots were for Biden, I'd say Biden won the military.

I'm grateful this seemingly got through to the Military.

Pres Obama & VP Biden always respected them & treated them so well when they were in charge.

Than the MAGAts will have you believe. The Democratic folk abide by the rule not to voice political opinions in uniform, but they do vote. No military coup in the offing.

Vets tend to vote republican, because they feel Dems cut their services and benefits.
Active duty voted more for Biden, because the generals know.

One vet I know voted for 45, acknowledging the generals didn't like him, but he didn't need to listen to them anymore, he can think for himself. Sadly, he's part of a cult now, and not thinking.

Trump waves to whackos on the way to the golf course and sits on his fat arse and tweets crap late at night. He will head to Florida before Thanksgiving because it will be too cold to comfortably golf in Virginia. He’s a lazy bum.

They are Americans, living and loving their families and friends just like everyone else. They have bills and mortgages and rent. They have children in school. They have relatives scattered all over the country and world.

Why the actual fuck would they back a fuckin coup?

Tell your SIL to go find a “military” person and ask.
