What are the other 75 million thinking?

Approximately 154 million people voted for President in the election. There are about 229 million citizens over the age of 18.

So 75 million people who are eligible to vote did not vote November 3, which is a number of potential voters about equal to the number that voted for Biden or Trump. In other words, the country splits about evenly between Biden, Trump, and "don't care".

Who are these people? Why didn't they vote?

Are they Republicans in Blue jurisdictions where Republicans never win? Are they Democrats in Red jurisdictions where Democrats never win?

Or are they Republicans in Red jurisdictions where Republicans always win anyway? Are they Democrats in Blue jurisdictions where Democrats always win anyway?

Do they not vote because voting is useless, or do they truly not care?

I have heard my vote won’t change anything. My sons mother refuses to vote. Also Jehovah witnesses are unable to vote. They may care but are not allowed. I found this out with my job when I asked a cliant if he wanted me to drop off absentee ballots for he and his wife (were allowed in Florida). He said we can’t vote we’re Jehovah witness. I said cool. Didn’t have much else to say.

To some degree they apparently think all politicians suck but I know they have opinions about individuals. They just don’t think their vote matters.

He hates drumpf, but he wouldn't go out and vote against him because his state was going for Biden anyway, he's disabled and it's a hassle. She and I both tried to convince him to vote by drop off box, but he's just a weird person and although he's 55 years old, he's never voted. Said he'd vote if he lived elsewhere, but doesn't see the point of it in CA. Guess there could be a lot of people like him on both sides?

How many ballots got lost in the mail?

How many were incorrectly kicked off the roles?

Voter suppression has been a feature of the GOP for a few decades now.

to register and vote... she expressed that she didn't like either candidate. I couldn't get an answer as to how she came to that opinion... she finally allowed that "Biden was a decent person and Trump was not." but that wasn't enough to drag her butt to a polling location.

because they don't see the point.

Tons of Republicans in California, NY etc skip it. Tons of Democrats Utah, Kentucky, Alabama, etc, skip it.

Some because they are in jail for minor crimes. Some just don't care.

Even if there is little hope of electing state-wide candidates, good candidates for county and municipal government give Democrats a reason to register and vote. Local success will help build the party and create the opportunity for eventual statewide success.

I know two people who were lifetime non-voters. One came out to vote against bush (she’s now in our camp) and one came out to vote against Obama (she’s a Trumper)

We need to get the ones who lean our way and leave the others alone.

I know some Libertarian's voted for the 3rd Party Candidates when they did vote, but a lot of them may just feel that tRump is batshit crazy and Biden too much government for their taste.

Deep Green "might" not vote in protest to the moderation of the message, but that's only a thought.

Voting is a responsibility and it takes effort in these times of voter suppression. It has been that way for some time and stolen elections make people really wonder "Why bother?"

IRONICALLY, that is why there is so little Voter Fraud. Getting people to care enough to Vote even ONCE takes monumental effort.

At least that is what we were taught in my sociology classes ages ago and it still makes sense to me today. Of course everyone has a stake in the system whether they know it or not. But I can understand why those who are on the lower end of the economic and social status scales believe the system doesn't work for them.

I OTOH, am tickled pink that Kamala is in place, ready or already working, and look forward to the progress we are going to make against Covid and all the other problems we now have.

I especially am happy that we are rid of the ass kissung Mike "Dead eyes" Pence. I know it is not a reason to vote for someone, but I look forward to seeing her pretty face at pressers where she battles the evil doers and makes things right again.

...In 1960, I watched my father stay up all night watching Kennedy vs Nixon election. I think in Illinois
that state was won by Kennedy by about 10,000 votes....Less than one in one hundred....

...So, there are times when a single vote does count...Hard to tell someone in California or Florida, but yes, there are times a single vote in lots of areas can make a difference. How close is Arizona in this last election? You tell me...Georgia?....Well....Well...ain't that swell.....this very last election that Biden won, proves this exact point.........

So, I don't need to go back to 1960...just a few days ago.....Good By Trump.....!!!!
