We have freedom of speech, you know. Doesn't that mean I should be able to blather on about any bullshit I like without any challenge over its validity? They really think that's what freedom of speech is about. A guy I used to work with, an Infowars fan, told me once that freedom of speech means the right to say anything you like, whether it's true or not. That's how committed these people are to being entertained rather than being educated. This kind of speech (fake news, to coin a phrase) is an insidious threat to true freedom of speech. It's a problem we're going to have to face soon.
