Scarborough Country

That’s when I began to take a tough position on Democratic Party messaging. Back in the days of Scarborough Country on MSNBC. When Joe Scarborough used to talk about “Democratic Liberal Elitists” and their lack of values. Scarborough always compared the North to the South, city to country, left to right. It was back in the day of patriots vs. Democrats. Family values vs. Democrats without them. Church goers vs. non-believing Democrats. Day in, day out. Day in, day out.
Scarborough always had plenty of Republican backup for his demeaning conversations about Harvard, Tree-Huggers, and these Northeastern Democrats with their country-ruining values.

I heard the same type of anti-Democrat nonsense during the aftermath of September 11th, when Democrats’ patriotism was questioned. “Shock and Awe” was the National Theme. Anti-invasion folks were liberal wussies....maybe traitors. All of this stuck and we’re still hearing it today.

I’d like to see a Democratic Party version of The Lincoln Project, overseen by fresh, tough, fearless daring people. I’d like to see our own version of edgy, Rapid Response. Quick, sharp, deadly, Don’t-Mess-With-Us responses. Every lie should be outed. We should no longer assume that decent people will eventually stumble onto the truth. The Lincoln Project didn’t cause such a positive national response by being wishy-washy. They didn’t allow anything important to slide by.Right now we should launch a massive effort to highlight what The Trump Cult has done to this country, and what Trump supporters are willing to overlook- like children in cages. Shame them for their degradation of everything we’ve fought for.

The Lincoln Project was brilliant and I wouldn’t be surprised if their support increases. We should get tough and get busy.

4. The problem with Democratic Messaging

Our messages are complex. Take even the simple no eviction when locked down. Simple direct, except you need to add onto it. It truly needs to say no eviction, and no reposition of any properties on loan, and don't forget, no shut off of utilities (gas, electric, broadband), or commodities. Don't forget you have to also include monies for food, oh and extra monies for those processing the food, and transporting it. Now to make this make sense you have to explain that if you just evict, cut off repo etc then the entire economy will collapse because we are a consumer economy and if you destroy the consumer (the little people), you destroy your business. See it just does not fit on a bumper sticker.

Why can't you just leave it at NO EVICTION, because the other side turns that into "its a free ride", you did not get that, you have to pay, your getting ripped off very simply and easily. It's easy to destroy a simple message, it's hard to communicate a complex one in a simple slogan. Yang was very close with his "freedom dividend", but remember how easy it was for others to pick away at it, all they needed to hear was free money, and bam they had their slogan to fight it.

Fast add on, clarify the turn on no eviction. Hey you don't get that with your mortgage, and or, you had to pay in full for your house, you got no help. Duh till Trump you deducted your interest.
