Conservative ignorance is the #1 national security threat.

Their denial of all science.

Evolution, choice, Covid, global-warming, environmental destruction, pollution, man-made cancers(see the former)

It's time to indict and prosecute the purveyors of this filth. The reich-wing You-tube channels that barf out lies against science, the Twitter accounts etc.

They're not exercising free-speech, there propagating lies.

People die because of said lies.

It's as simple as that.

2. I had a conversation with my landlady today...

where she brought up the election, she's a cult member, and I suddenly came to the awful conclusion that, as much as I love the location and lack of ownership responsibilities, all the animal she has here... that I have to move, not just away from her but out of my state that I have loved for a very long time. I need a divorce from my beloved state because I no longer feel safe here. It went from purple to flaming trump, I can't live in such an environment, this place is about to be exploited the likes of which have not been seen since the robber barons a century+ ago, and I can't watch it happen. The last best place is about to be trashed more than it has been recently, and it's gut wrenching to know that this is going to happen and I can do nothing about it.

7. I find that kind of works, kind of doesn't.

My red-state red city has three universities, and a couple of colleges. Two of the universities and one of the colleges are pretty traditional, typical schools. The others are conservative religious schools. If you stay in the neighborhoods adjoining the normal type universities, you are fine. Outside of those areas, you're pretty doomed. Massive issues with drugs, higher crime than there should be, crappy wages. And, as has been for decades, the city council and other government bodies tend to rubber stamp what the people with the big bucks want to do. These days, that usually consists of buying up perfectly good neighborhoods and demolishing them for cheap apartments.

The latter being a choice not to know. That way you'll always be right as there aren't competing facts to challenge and override your version of the facts.

6. And most literally because they are the ones handling white nationalist terrorists with kid gloves

"What's a white nationalist, huh? I'm white and a nationalist, you calling me a racist?"

And don't take my word for it, that is how they actually pretend white nationalism isn't an issue.

Frank Luntz - I talked to Tristan Harris and Jeff Orlowski of the upcoming Netflix documentary, 'The Social Dilemma.' Tristan explains how social networks are designed to "hijack" human attention by targeting our limbic system and keep us addicted to emotional responses.

11. Talking to my MAGA neighbors is like banging my head against the wall.
Tue Nov 17, 2020, 07:27 PM

I was out walking my dog last night, and said last night that when the vaccine comes I am going to be one of the first in line. Then my MAGA neighbor starts going off on autism conspiracy theories and Trump's "Operation Warp Speed". Just it boggles my mind how people can believe in this bullshit.
