I use < 1 roll a month of single ply TP. Sometimes, a little more...sometimes a little less. I have a 24 pack that my son bought me in the 1st TP crisis. Am I OK thru 2023? I do have organic material that could be utilized....if necessary.

(58,647 posts)I do have 4 rolls of an open pack, plus two unopened 6-roll packs on the shelf. I figure roughly that I have a couple of months worth at least.
I good.

(8,168 posts)I use it to dry after my bidet is finished. Technically, I could use the air-dryer in it, but I prefer not to.

(10,171 posts)Will certainly last me till 2021. Im sure its not all Trumpers but I assume they are the worst. Maybe its all that greasy food and beer. We know they are full of shit but they must be producing a huge amount.

Course, I am a guy, so no TP when peeing and my one ave poop a day is.....predictable. I am good with my TP usage. Should a TP shortage happen in 2022....I got the nature to back me up.
My tank just got pumped and, with just me, I'm good with 4+ years to my next pumping!
Ed note: Totally downhill, gravity feed, no pumps to push.

(10,171 posts)When they could get them. American rations came with 16 sheets of TP, the Brits only got 4. And ours came with cigarettes too.
A HERETIC I AM
(24,366 posts)The writer postulated that many millions of people use the toilet at work, particularly their bowel movements, and as such, they don't use as much TP when at home.
When the panic buying set in earlier this year, it was because people realized they were going to be at home and whole lot more and therefore not able to use the company can.
Also, the types of TP vary significantly between household/consumer style and commercial style. The type you see on large rolls in a public toilet is nothing like your quilted Charmin....AT ALL....and is in fact made on completely different machines by firms that don't typically make consumer grade toilet paper, OR in plants that do not have the proper equipment.
So basically what happened was, the makers of Charmin and Angel Soft and all the rest were inundated with demand beyond their capacity (hence the empty shelves), but if you wanted a large roll of the stuff your company puts in the mens and ladies rooms, there was no problem, you just needed to contact your friendly local industrial supply firm!
