McEnany calls state coronavirus restrictions for Thanksgiving 'Orwellian'

White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany on Wednesday called state restrictions meant to slow the spread of coronavirus around Thanksgiving "Orwellian" even as she acknowledged the Trump administration has ceded power to the governors to impose such measures.

"A lot of the guidelines you’re seeing are Orwellian," McEnany said in an appearance on "Fox & Friends."

"The American people know how to protect their health. We’ve dealt with COVID for many months," she added. "

McEnany pointed to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines, which are urging Americans to avoid holding Thanksgiving gatherings with people who do not live in their household in order to minimize the risks of spreading the coronavirus.

The value of an Ivy League education.

As for the American people knowing how to conduct themselves in this time, it's pretty obvious they don't. The number of infections and deaths keeps climbing, nearly out of control at this point. A quarter million dead, far more than any other country and far out of all proportion to our percentage of the world's population.

Every little thing is off the charts, comparisons to Hitler, Orwell, etc. because you are asked to wear a mask or question their god-king. Adjectives that describe things have lost meaning.

has been attributed to at least 18 deaths (at least 2 of those were people who were not in attendance at the wedding) as well as outbreaks in a nursing facility and a prison.

People go to these get-togethers, and they catch it, and then as they are asymptomatic, they spread it (because, you know, a mask violates their "rights" ) .

People OBVIOUSLY do not know how to protect their health. This current wave is evidence of that.

What's worse is that people don't care that they could spread this to someone else.
