Exactly. Not recounting the entire state denied equal protection to the voters of the not recounted counties. Of course, the opinion of Bush v. Gore says that it is not to be cited as precedent (I think). Nice loophole for the Court to go which way the wind’s blowin’.

How can anyone say Trump lost the election when there are still court cases and recounts going on?!?!

Feeds his ego. Feeds his base. Provides Trump's crony at GSA (Emily Murphy) an excuse to continue to not "ascertain" the winner. Lame excuse, yes - but one she will point to as an excuse. Same for Trump.

It's all bullshit to keep the delusion alive. (That Trump won, if only....blah blah blah bullshit)

Are we just whistling in the dark. ?

This stuff in courts is possibly just to delay certifications then to throw it all into the hands of republican Legislatures? And have those legislatures send trump slates to the electoral college.

That has crossed my mind. The delay tactic. One of the reasons I'm glad Biden is pushing ahead with his transition plans, as much as possible, and keeping the country and the world informed of it, as well as the world settling in to a Biden presidency on the horizon.

Makes it harder to go against.

Not that Trump and Barr wouldn't enjoy gunning down Americans in the streets should they try such a move against Biden and the voters. People would take to the streets and it would get ugly.

how clerks statewide may cure absentee ballots missing the witness address, was unlawful; that absentee ballot applications were unlawfully sent; and that people illegally claimed they were confined at home for the purposes of voting absentee

Of course, if the 2016 order were unlawful, it would have been appropriate to litigate that issue before election day (in order to obtain effective) statewide relief, rather than after ballots were counted. The purpose of the delay appears to be to argue unfairly that election results be discarded only in select jurisdictions, in order to delay certification

Similarly, the Trump campaign had official GOP observers when ballots were counted, and were absentee ballot applications unlawfully sent, it would have been appropriate to litigate that issue before the ballots were counted, rather than after ballots were counted. Again the purpose of the delay appears to be to argue unfairly that election results be discarded only in select jurisdictions, in order to delay certification

Finally, the claim that people illegally claimed they were confined at home for the purposes of voting absentee is risible, in the context of the current pandemic

Nor is it clear how a recount would cure any of these claims
