Biden Mounts Lobbying Blitz to Crack GOP Resistance

November 19, 2020 at 6:37 am EST By Taegan Goddard

“Joe Biden’s transition team has tried to project calm as President Donald Trump refuses to concede and many Republicans — and even one key part of the federal government — continue to have his back,” Politico reports.

“But behind the scenes, Biden’s advisers are in the midst of a fierce lobbying blitz to get Trump’s allies to crack. They’re dispatching emissaries from past administrations — Republican and Democrat — along with a wide array of business and interest group leaders to intercede on Biden’s behalf. According to three transition officials, Biden’s team is in talks with multiple Republican leaders and officeholders to end the transition stalemate, warning them of risks to national security and public health if the president-elect isn’t granted access to the government.”

Republicans who broke away from Trump made that choice themselves. They know Trump is dead in the water and want to save themselves from his fall. They have a future, Trump does not.

is a way to bail out of the Trump train without losing face. Which they already have lost. They backed Trump past the point of failure and they all can't figure out a way to bail and come up with a reason that doesn't anger Trump, and doesn't make them look stupid. A true rock and hard place, and I gotta tell you - if they are looking for a way out, there isn't one. The Trump stink is on them for good, and unless they renounce what is essentially all GOP values, then they are toast.

We must loudly proclaim every single day the lack of action these Republiscums used to ignore the will of the people.

Use their silence to hang them in public, in the media and in every campaign in the next two elections. Make them pay, I say!

13. YES, YES...There has to be Kompromat, and all of it MUST be investigated.

I understand that Biden needs to stay out of it, at least in the public eye, but the new AG has to be relentless in the investigations. I am sure the FBI has tons of proof of the corruption in the trump administration.

Also, Democrats need to start bringing knives to knives fight and guns to gun fights, they cannot come to a gun fight with a bible, they have to know that it doesn't work.

14. We don't have to use the AG for all of this. Not all Kompromat involves crimes.

Campaigns do it all the time. Essentially, we are still in campaign mode. We can use private funding and private investigators.

Keep calling our Congress Critters, tell them to get off their ass and insist on a smooth transition.

Really, send in cute Russian models with bags of rubles and Biden would get what ever he needs.

Organized. Disciplined. Not letting stuff fall through the cracks.

Refreshing to have some competence.

"intercede on Biden’s behalf" plays into the partisan narrrative that Trump is pursuing. Shoddily conceived piece.

Well? What's in it for me? That's the kind of people we're dealing with. And the sooner the Democratic Party and this incoming administration internalizes that truth, the better we will all be. You can't deal with these people. You can't. You can only do what you can to eradicate them and their party.

As more and more Rep's sign on, so to speak, it should be more and more obvious to the slightly reasonable ones that they're trying to bail out a sieve, and it's time to get in the lifeboat.
