Mnuchin Lets Emergency Lending Programs Expire

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin declined to extend several emergency loan programs established jointly with the Federal Reserve that are set to expire on Dec. 31, the Wall Street Journal reports.

Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell had indicated in remarks Tuesday that he didn’t think it would be appropriate to allow the programs to expire.
