This is the third legal defeat today for plaintiffs challenging the integrity of the election.
Judge Grimberg, in Atlanta, bases his decision largely on the question of standing.

Grimberg calls their standing theory "creative."
Adam Klasfeld
@KlasfeldReports
He adds that he finds it significant that Trump didn't join the lawsuit, in terms of standing.
It's "abundantly clear" the plaintiff lacks the right to sue, he adds.

(13,088 posts)Their press briefing is indescribable.
You have to see it to believe it.
They accused the Dems of every crime in the book.
They brought in Hugo Chavez, George Soros, and the unknown masterminds.
Rudy's hair dye was dripping down the sides of his face.
I have never seen such evil insane people in my life.

"There is no doubt that the right to vote, even an individual's right to vote is sacrosanct," Judge Grimberg says, adding that "doesn't mean that individual voters have the right to dictate" the manner in which that vote is counted.

(37,748 posts)There's a part of me, the adult part that says "no one on earth can possibly be as pig-stupid as trump is and he's doing this for show." But if that's the case, the only possible result I can see is greater and greater humiliation on his part, meaning he really is that stupid... except no one can be *that* stupid.
It's a dilemma on my part... I either tell myself that a dull-witted buffoon has a valid end-game scenario in all this, or that (dammit) there really are functioning adults in the world that really are that stupid.
Dilemma over. He's that stupid. There's no way around it. There's no Win coming out of this for him in any meaningful or measurable way, and he's simply a dull-witted empty suit.

(53,342 posts)by delaying past state certification dates, he hopes to get the House to make the decision on who is president
26 states have a republican majority representing them in the House so, presumably, that's his path to staying in office
ain't gonna happen!

(17,474 posts)now he is trying to convince state legislatures to ignore the votes of the people.
I expected crap like this from Trump, what really galls me is the politicians who are supporting him in an attempted coup. Who would have thought that a defeated American president could ever pull such a stunt? We have some house cleaning to do if we are going to retain our Democracy.

(5,376 posts)If states aren't certified, then they don't count towards the majority of electoral votes, so Biden would need less than 270 to win.

(18,402 posts)Believe me, he and his so-called lawyers know that the lawsuits are specious, and that there is no way the outcome of the election can be changed.
Why is Trump doing this? The usual: he is crazy, mean, and litigious ... as a way of life. He loves the chaos, and he loves the attention it gives him. And bonus: he gets to stomp on Biden by denying him access for the transition. He thinks this makes him a winner.
Why are the lawyers doing it? Theyre getting paid.
Lock him up.

(23,334 posts)If his intention was to cement his role as leader of the Republican Party, then this has been effective. That's the "win," if nothing else. That's probably one objective, and another is probably to try everything possible to maintain the presidency, even if the likelihood of success is very low.
