"SNIP.....

House Democratic leaders are proceeding with plans to bring back earmarks for the 117th Congress, Roll Call reports.

The three candidates to replace retiring House Appropriations Chairwoman Nita Lowey (D-NY) are all on board with restoring “congressionally directed spending,” as it has come to be known.

Need a vote? BUY IT with some fat PORK.

Otherwise, it’s nearly impossible to get anything done in our system of government. I hope that the Senate follows suit.

Whatever. As long as it generates some level of cross-isle consensus on things that NEED DOING, I'm not going to complain

Reduces the divisions in the house at the committee level, which will work its way up through the rest of the house.
I think the worst political blunder happened when the House agreed to the Reagan push to end earmarks in the name of "Fiscal Responsibility". Earmarks since the beginning of Congress cost both the Treasury and the Nation far less than political division has over the past 40 years.

Mccarthy loses power when earmarks come back.
