In Pro-Trump Media, The Election Never Ended


Far-right conspiracy networks are peddling the delusion that the president never lost.

It’s been nearly two weeks since every major news outlet called the presidential race for Democratic nominee Joe Biden. But for pro-Trump media, the election never ended.

The election map this week on One America News shows President Donald Trump with 232 electoral votes to Biden’s 227, with the states of Georgia, Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Arizona and Nevada all still up for grabs. Friday’s front page of The Epoch Times is the same: a United States dotted with gray “undecided” states, indicating that Trump has not yet lost.

An array of far-right and conspiratorial media outlets are still promoting the fantasy that Trump will have a second term ― spinning debunked falsehoods about voter fraud and praising the Trump campaign’s ramshackle legal attempts to invalidate votes as a pretext to claim that Biden’s win was either illegitimate or simply never happened. Like the president himself, they’re not willing to accept that Biden won the national popular vote by around 6 million votes and is slated to receive 306 Electoral College votes, putting him well over the 270 needed for the presidency.

The election is over. But these outlets are helping Trump spin the narrative that it isn’t.

...to the sputtering apoplectic levels to which their viewers/readers have become accustomed?

These channels learned the lessons of the past: never treat Democratic administrations as legitimate. Always find an excuse for why they shouldn't be treated like "real" presidents.

For Bill Clinton, it was his winning by a plurality of the vote, not a majority.
For Barack Obama, it was birtherism.
For Hillary Clinton, it would have been those buttery emails and what was supposed to have been in them.
For Joe, it's this shit.

it won't be as bad as many think. He'll be labeled a loser with the "L: on his forehead and all. Just as when Joe was declared the winner, there were no Proud Boys, Bugaloo Bois or red-hatted milisias/urban terrorists rampageing out in the steets as was widely speculated.

No, that say their terrorist asses at home and watch the spontaneous celebrations of joy spill out into the streets of not just our cities but in cities all over the word at the knowledge that trump lost.

They can all just go and suck as they are big losers along with trump and they won't "rise up" as that one winger called for.
