(146,286 posts)investigate the elections in those other states. There's this pandemic going on, see, and we need to get a real leader into the White House. All recounting those states would do right now is slow things down.

(15,220 posts)Im no legal scholar, but I keep saying I want the Dems to fight more and then I get a reply asking me what I expect them to do.
Well, maybe this. Not because it will change anything or make the outcome different. But if the Trump team files a lawsuit in one state, the Biden team might file in another state. Sort of a tit for tat to make the other side expend funds.
Its not possible to play things straight when in opposition to a monster who thinks the laws dont apply to him.

(44,973 posts)Recounting states? All states have rules on when recount can be requested.
You can't just recount for no reason.
Many states would also charge millions for recounts. So you are suggesting to waste millions for no reason?

(15,220 posts)Are you telling me HE can do this but the Dems cant?
The purpose is to make the other side bleed cash.

(9,760 posts)Part of Trump's strategy is to be able to point to all the lawsuits his campaign has filed and convince many who don't really pay that close attention, that the Dems have done something fishy here. For those same clueless people, Biden's campaign might find small but legit reasons to bring suit just as often.
Maybe not, as Dems frequently are punished for doing what Rs do and get away with. But it seems we could benefit from a better strategy.

(15,220 posts)But there ARE legal scholars who should be able to figure out an active rebuttal - more active than what we are seeing. My opinion aligns with yours in that I think we need a more robust strategy.
I read post after post after post on DU saying polls indicated that Biden would win in a landslide. I was skeptical because of 2016. Okay, Biden has won at this point. Ill gladly admit my delight. But hes not in office yet and I dont put ANYTHING past Trump, including Trump destroying us all to keep himself safe.
I read currently here that Sidney Powell is a nutcase. Hell, I agree. But the fact is that Michael Flynn is walking the streets rather than in a jail cell. So pardon me if I worry just a bit. I think you see my point?
In my opinion, the Dems have no choice but to stop playing nice.

(9,760 posts)peaking now with Trump, is that it is ingeniously difficult to combat. It kind of reminds me of the saying, never wrestle with a pig--you'll just get dirty and the pig likes it.
So, yeah, Ds need to put massive resources in to experts who can advise and a team to create and carry out a plan of action. Of course, that takes money. And, unlike R billionaires who seem willing to spend lavishly on keeping Rs in power, D billionaires aren't nearly as supportive of Dem politicians and initiative. Nearly all billionaires are supremely interested in remaining billionaires. And having Rs in power helps ensure that they retain that status.
