My sister (ER nurse) has six-month out "long-hauler syndrome," and is trying to work again but has no stamina at all and chronic headaches.

I hope the course and recovery will be far easier for your son.

Rather than transport it to a new location.

We have quarantine dorms - and reporting to the school is mandatory when students get sick. Make sure he's following all the school rules!

Best of luck - were halfway into a 14 day quarantine.

My youngest (21) had it recently. He lives off campus with two roommates in a house. He isolated in his room for 10 days while his roommates brought him food and drink. He used a bathroom that no one else used.

He had mild symptoms including loss of smell, some mild congestion, headache and dizziness. I sent him a thermometer and an oximeter. His symptoms cycled through quickly, He had strep throat at the same time.

Sorry that he won’t be able to be home during thanksgiving. I know how hard it is to deal with this from afar. I’d text him each morning and evening to see how he was, and it was still hard to sleep during those ten days.

is strong and bounces back quickly (and completely)! I worry that our schools are in more trouble than we realize. West Point doctors aren't even testing anymore because all their quarantine space is full so there's no place to put cadets who test positive. Cadets have been given "guidelines" that leadership doesn't follow themselves and WP is still playing football, even though all other intercollegiate sports have been sidelined! That's the only school I'm intimately knowledgable about, but I suspect it's not an exception. Tens of thousands of college kids are heading home to their families. It's impossible to imagine some of these won't be bringing it with them. So scary.

All the best to you. Take care and stay safe. I hope your son has a quick recovery!

in my opinion, the loss of senses is diagnostic. What will you do when he gets home?

I certainly hope his course is mild, and that somehow the rest of you don't get it.

I did not know Bell's Palsy was part of this, especially if just having cold symptoms.

My friend's SO had it loss of sense of taste. That was about the worst symptom that he had....

She never got it, despite revealing TMI about their love life...
