but we all know damn good and well that is exactly what Trump intends.

At this point, it isn't a coup it is an attempt at overturning the results of a Presidential election.

Personally, I think Trump thinks his cultists will rise up and save him if he can't pull this off.

Some cultists in my area of Texas are already making plans and it’s frightening.

I admire those on this board who can maintain the positivity. But for me, I worry. I cannot let go of the fact that Trump has gotten away with everything he’s tried up to this point.

it's kinda like trying to pass of monopoly money as real money. it's unlikely to work, but it's still counterfeiting.

donnie and his gang are trying to take control of the next presidential term despite having clearly lost the election.

the fact that they are pretending to do it within the context of exercising their legal rights doesn't change the facts.

*if* they actually had mountains of evidence of fraud, then it wouldn't necessarily be a coup attempt and exercising their rights to dispute the election would make sense. but they don't, *because they made it up out of whole cloth*. they have no evidence of fraud and they have no legitimate basis for disputing the election results.

all they've done was dream up an excuse to abuse the legal process, then they went out and offered millions of dollars for people to fabricate evidence. the best you could say of this is maybe they were hoping that actual evidence existed and this process would turn it up, but the reality is that the existence of evidence was always just a fantasy and offering money to produce it only encourages people to fabricate "evidence".

given that there's no *factual* basis to dispute the election, the exercising the legal right to dispute the election amounts to a coup attempt.

fortunately, it's unlikely to succeed, but it's still a coup attempt.
