Kerry and Gore, Gore and Kerry. They're GIANTS. Smart, bold, ground-breaking (especially Gore), on-active-mode, and loaded with integrity.

(The) dick cheney arrogantly declared "the adults are back in charge" when bush/cheney stole that election and followed Clinton/Gore into the White House. HAH! Well, now WE get to appropriate that statement for ourselves, but in our case, it's actually true. The REAL adults ARE gonna be back in charge. Fifty-eight days from now, by my count today (11/23/20).

At the risk of repeating links on a thread, I really felt I needed to recommend this Kerry Gore conversation for you. It is very clear that each has enormous respect for the other and their explanations on things is fascinating. Gore speaks of his then relatively recent book. That conversation is one thing I have thought of as Trump has gone off the rails. https://www.facebook.com/yalesom/videos/10155437677744442 It is interesting that this was the second Kerry conversation - meaning he was likely the first person Kerry asked to do it.

Both as a long time friend of Biden's and as the essential person in the Obama administration in getting both the China/US agreement and the Paris Accord. That was never a sure thing -- in fact, after the Copenhagen meetings, the Obama administration was pessimistic that anything could be done. Supposedly, Kerry asked Obama when accepting the SOS job to be allowed to try to make getting an agreement his equivalent to HRC's work for women and children. He brought to the job decades of meeting with counterparts on this issue - meaning he both knew the history of things that failed and he had the relationships. (In fact, in 2007, the GWB administration actually spoke positively of his efforts at the Bali meetings.)

Al Gore will forever deserve credit for educating millions of Americans and getting them to understand the science and to advocate for dealing with climate change. However, at this point, Kerry's connections internationally are stronger. (The two men have been allies during the Trump years - you might enjoy a Yale "Kerry Conversation" with Al Gore - it starts a little before 7 minutes. https://www.facebook.com/yalesom/videos/10155437677744442 )

As he was contemplating his cabinet? Which Gore did attend, and can you imagine what went through Gore's sophisticated reasoning upon meeting the accidental dump?
I understand the meeting was very short. I can imagine. One moment for Gore to sum up the total malfunction.

thanks for the link. bookmarking.

Kerry would be there somewhere. He was the first major Democrat to back Biden publicly.

Part of me wondered if he would return to State or be CoS. This will be a less demanding spot through, maybe he likes retirement.

As Secretary of State, he started the Our Ocean conferences, which have continued to this day, and which have made big steps in preserving some areas of an endangered oceans -- something that has major impact on the climate crisis. He also was an essential person to get to the Paris Accord.

However, the environment was just one issue he had on his plate. He was seen as SOS to have worked his heart out on everything. I would be willing to bet that he will probably focus all the intensity he has always brought to his work to a range of environmental issues that he has been passionate about throughout his entire life.

Not to mention - remember that he and Teresa wrote "This moment on earth" that honored many people working against environmental damages. In many cases dealing with environmental injustice. He has been working on climate change via World War Zero for the last year. As such, he has virtually met with scholars and activists. Here is one I watched that impressed me for many reasons. The woman he was talking with was very good AND Kerry, someone far better known and "important" asked concise questions allowing her to have the majority of the time. https://www.instagram.com/p/CB4O-2IICDw/?fbclid=IwAR0b_x453m1fv0lV12WZ47iIrxMJEVS2hdf0mLHo3oXgTfVZTm-sqUaGKbA

Also, just because I am tired of it, affixing "-gate" to scandals.

Some day, we'll have a scandal involving competitive bidding on security gates at federal buildings and will have to refer to it as "Gate-gate".

John Kerry Signed The Paris Deal With His Granddaughter
June 1, 2017

The day before Donald Trump pulled the United States out of the Paris climate accord, former Secretary of State John Kerry urged the president to think about the country's grandchildren in deciding the fate of the planet. It was certainly something he himself did, as a photo of Kerry signing the Paris Climate Agreement for the U.S. just last year showed.

In 2016, Kerry sat down with his then-2-year-old granddaughter Isabelle in his arms and signed the Paris climate deal.

Just over a year later, he was telling the new president, "billions of grandkids will have to live with this decision, however it lands. Think of them, please."

Czar is former emperor or king of Russia.

Why use that title? Our government can come up with another title.

Honestly, this environmental push has to start at the very top, and become a global policy.
Kerry is absolutely perfect to lead it.

Consider the greed & mob grift taking place in many countries for toxic mining of lithium, nickel etc for batteries & minerals & ore.

It isn't just Petroleum that has to be addressed.
Many of these countries use child labor & ignore the toxicity left behind, to profit on markets whether they are Underground Mob owned markets or unregulated open World markets.

It will require a leader of Kerry's respect, diplomacy & call to duty.
