There are a several counties that will be late...not unusual but certification continues. And the hard deadline is November 30th because half the Senate and all of the legislature would be our of office without a certified vote. It really is over!!!!! ByeDon

Pennsylvania counties certify election results despite isolated pushback and baseless fraud claims from Trump allies

Pennsylvania counties certify election results despite isolated pushback and baseless fraud claims from Trump allies Pennsylvania counties rushed Monday to certify results from the Nov. 3 election, even as President Donald Trump and his Republican allies continued to press their increasingly long-shot effort in court to stop the state from finalizing the vote tally declaring Joe Biden the victor.
As county boards of elections convened for what is normally little more than sleepy formality, the impact of the presidents push to undermine public trust in the integrity of the vote repeatedly faced.
In at least three of the states most populous counties Montgomery, Allegheny and Luzerne boards split their votes along party lines. And in several others, speakers at public meetings urged elections administrators to reject the results, echoing baseless conspiracy theories of widespread fraud and malfunctioning voting machines that Trump has propagated in recent weeks...
....understand that people have strong feelings about this and I understand that people get information from various sources, but I personally have faith in the process, he said, moments before all three members of his panel voted to approve certification......Nothing stopped it despite an avalanche of lawsuits and lies, said City Commissioner Al Schmidt, a Republican, who has received threats for his statements vouching for the integrity of the process in Philadelphia....While there are no hard legal deadlines for when the state as a whole has to certify its results, there are some practical ones. The legislative session ends Nov. 30, meaning all 203 representatives in the state House of Representatives and half of the 50 state senators will officially end their terms next Monday. Lawmakers cant be seated in districts where the results havent been certified, since theres no official winner yet.

(127,297 posts)Philly did its certification in 15 minutes this evening, so the largest counties are done but there are still some smaller ones out (and Berks County isn't due to certify theirs until Wednesday).

Replying to @JohnFetterman
I spent all weekend triple checking that there is *not* a lost, enchanted village in Pennsylvania with 90,000 Trump voters that we forgot to count.

The GOP lawsuits are so dopey that if PA doesnt certify the vote, after November 30th, we literally dont have a PA House + 1/2 of the Senate, both of which are controlled by Republicans.
And they accuse me of smoking too much weed.

Republicans refusing to certify elections results that show *their candidate won* is literally the purest distillate of their campaigns efficacy.

Luzerne Countys Board of Elections passes the motion 3-2 to certify the vote. Tait, Ouellette and Serniak, all Democrats, voted yes. Gould and Dombroski-Gebhardt, both Republicans, voted no.

(68,348 posts)It was an hour out of Scranton and an hour or so out of New York...had a huge mountain to get to Middletown New York where all the shopping was at that time...I am afraid of heights. I once got pulled over for going to slow and was advised by a sympathetic police officer to seek therapy...true story. Neve overcame it but turned on my flashers and was not stopped again. I now live in Ohio close enough to walk to PA.
