Dadgummit, I missed a chance at a good reply

Facebook friend from High School asked me "how black is your soul?" because I dared question the veracity of a tucker carlson video wherein he interviews some PHD about the 6 million votes that google changed (not even counting the Dominion votes!) that he posted.

He is STILL (as of today, 11/24) convinced the lawsuits will prove that the supreme court will need to call the election in tRump's favor.

I lol at him and he asks how black my soul is.

I should have replied "Black souls matter".

(He got REALLY torqued a few days ago when he posted how great it was that tyrannical fascist Gov Whitmer was getting impeached and I said "Yay! You're finally antifa!&quot

I missed that opportunity but he posts all the conspiracies daily so there's plenty more chances to lol at him. (We were good friends in high school 40 years ago - we went to a private christian school and he stayed with it while I evolved)

Except we were always conservative because that was what was beaten into us at home and school.

But the good news is one of my very best friends recently realized he had been wrong all along. Full on Dem now. And vocal about it in our circle. Turns out a few of us are seeing through the right-wing hatred.

"Borrowed from French, the expression esprit de l’escalier, or esprit d’escalier, literally wit of (the) staircase, denotes a retort or remark that occurs to a person after the opportunity to make it has passed.

It originally referred to a witty remark coming to mind on the stairs leading away from a social gathering. The image seems to have originated in Paradoxe sur le Comédien (Paradox of the Actor), an essay on theatre by the French philosopher, writer and critic Denis Diderot (1713-84)"...(more)
