Did you notice........

the lack of mandatory ego polishing that the Biden team noted in their remarks? A brief thanks to Biden for picking them, but way more focused on their backgrounds and plans.

It's like Joe doesn't need public displays of fealty because he is secure in his own person. Nice to have a confident man rather than a con man in charge.

It's a fundamental part of our psyches.

But I get your point. Trump is the neediest, weakest man I've ever seen and his constant need for affirmation is disgusting.

President-Elect Biden has a secure, mature and balanced psyche. It's a wonderful feeling to know that our soon-to-be president is a grownup and not a petulant man-child.

Nor does he have a chip on his shoulder. His Grandpop smacked that right off when he was a kid. Made an impression on him at an early age.

I have often said anyone in public service should be able to define it, and I like the Japanese Zen monk who said when asked how much ego is good - Just enough to keep you from stepping in front of a bus.

A person "having an ego" often means that the person has a fragile ego, is not confident and constantly needs affirmation.

Almost ends up meaning the opposite of what is said.

Sycophants on parade ...

http://crooksandliars.com/2017/06/donald-trump-hosts-propaganda-cabinet

Towards the end, Reince Priebus became one of the major suck-ups in the room saying, "On behalf of the entire senior staff around you, Mr. President, we thank you for the opportunity and blessing you've given us to serve your agenda and the american people and we're continuing to work very hard every day to accomplish those goals."

I forgot about those revolting cabinet meetings where everyone around the table had to give undying praise to Trump. All, if I recall correctly, except the Generals.
