And I just got to the start of the brief, and the first citation, and - @j_remy_green -

This is absolutely perfect.

It's the kind of thing that might be over the top if it came from one of the parties, but an amicus can sometimes do things a party can't - and this is one of those times.

"The attorneys for the President of the United States should not need “three last chances” to coherently state a cause of action. See Monty Python’s Flying Circus: The Spanish Inquisition (BBC television broadcast Sept. 22, 1970). Yet, apparently, that third, last chance is all they seek from this Court."

Attorneys needing 3 last chances shouldn't be representing presidents of the United States, and persons hiring said lawyers should not be president of the United States.

and had an opening page with this quote:

"How come stealing from one book is plagiarism, but stealing from many is research?" - A.E. Newman

The prof. gave me an "A" but wrote, "Who is A.E. Newman?"

"What, me worry?"

A nice history paper made by translating chapters from another language into "original" research? Probably my only "A" but a comment about stilted language....

But it was a running contest among the judicial clerks in the state appellate court where I worked to work the name of a dog into the opinion. . . That and citing the "oak tree case" (the handwritten note on the spine of a reporter in my judge's office) on home rule.
