(16,616 posts)Two books you might really like (and one of them tells us how to fight this).
Unholy, by Sarah Posner
The Power Worshippers, by Katherine Stewart (includes ideas for organizations to support)
I was lulled into complacency by articles saying the RW Christian movement was dying out, but even though the numbers are shrinking the money and power is growing and going global, with help from Russia, Hungary, Moldova, etc...

(12,581 posts)That is how it always goes. Doesn't matter if your church down the street participates in the community at large with his or her church, your beliefs must submit to that of the ruler's or that of whomever ends up winning the religious food fight to Fascism.
You think you're a fellow Christian? Not any more. One question, and no matter how much of a Gawd-fearing conservative you are, you become an enemy of the State.
Religious governments always end up "eating their own" with far more relish than they take getting rid of unbelievers.
It's not so much taking religion out of government, it's keeping government out of religion.
