One thing that's never brought up when they complain about losing rights.

IT'S TEMPORARY!

Conservatives are always complaining about Covid restrictions eliminating their Constitutional rights.
But it's a temporary condition to get an emergency situation under control.
No one is permanently eliminating the right for religious groups to gather or forcing people to wear masks for the rest of their lives.

There are many temporary restrictions people have to follow in emergency situations.
In a wildfire people are prevented from returning to their homes which infringes on a Constitutional right but it's temporarily necessary to control the situation.

Technically, falsely yelling fire in a crowded theater is free speech but is illegal because it endangers others.

Endangering others to exercise your Constitutional rights has never been acceptable before but is now.

I swear, just now Mr. O and I were discussing this VERY SAME THING.

I agree, why don’t we hear more counter arguments about this?

Once people acquiesce to "Big Government" in any tiny way they will let down their guard and become more compliant until they lose all their rights. Idiocy, but it's how they 'reason.'

and if he had encouraged others to do so, we would never have heard a peep from them about this. He planted that doubt in their head about the efficacy of wearing masks and encouraged their resistance to wearing masks. I think he gets off on the fact that he can control so many people like that, and he's gotten addicted to the power. This has never been about freedom or rights, it's about politics and power.

Even if you buy in to the idea of prayer, you can't deny that it can be performed while distancing at home.

I wonder how much the concern about the offering plate revenues is behind all this?

uses their own common sense. There's no mandate to wear maskswhile dining indoors at a restaurant, but my hubby & I haven't gone out to eat since this virus firswt arrived. Now, even the CDC is telling people NOT to dine insde a restsaurant. If you mustg est out, eat outside. We don't wear our masks inside our own car, but put them on when we leave. We don't want to get the virus! AIAf people would just think about themselves getting sice, they wouldn't need any orders or mandates.

The Bible allows that you can worship God on your own.

But these folks want a secular law to avoid that.

The Catholic Church has got its hand out, and so does Congress. What I want to know is, why isn't this behavior reflected in poll (un)favorability?

But Trump and his Republicans whipped our citizens into a tizzy and, deceived and stampeded, some chose to ignore and abet the invader, the virus. Trump and those Republican leaders who aided him are the biological equivalent of a fifth column.
