NBC: "Experts worry Trump can't be trusted with nation's secrets after leaving office"

Ahhhh... YOU THINK ?!!!

We better be wise the fuck up already.

SMFH

They argue soon-to-be-former President Trump already poses a danger because of the secrets he currently possesses, and they say it would be foolish to trust him with more sensitive information. With Trump's real estate empire under financial pressure and his brand suffering, they worry he will see American secrets
...
"This is not something that one could have ever imagined with other presidents, but it's easy to imagine with this one," said Jack Goldsmith, who worked as a senior Justice Department official in the George W. Bush administration.

"He's shown as president that he doesn't take secret-keeping terribly seriously," Goldsmith said in an interview. "He has a known tendency to disrespect rules related to national security. And he has a known tendency to like to sell things that are valuable to him."

What will he retain in his head after he leaves office? Any paper or access to a server would immediately be illegal and subject him to criminal prosecution (just after he got his shiny pardon which will almost certainly happen).

He is bad but is he really that bad? He has to know giving up spies would have significant blowback.

I could imagine a scenario right now though were he is accessing the most damaging information and declassifying it and sharing it with his best buds. Anything he does now could be covered under his Jan. 19th pardon.

He needs to be in jail for all his Russian money-laundering via Deutsche Bank, tax evasion, and general traitorism. How about all those secret Russian meetings that we only learned about from Russian media? I'm sure all kinds of shady dealings were happening right there in the oval office---with no written records.

I can't believe his minions chant USA, USA at his rallies when he is selling us out.

I support cooperation between the intelligence community and justice department to draw out rump or his demon spawn. Let’s add espionage to their list of ‘accomplishments’.

She said he was putin's puppet and she was right and they didn't want to listen. They knew that he was probably a risk of being turned by Russia and other foreign entities and all we heard about was a laptop owned by anthony weiner. Fuck these people. I am sick and tired of hearing about shit that we knew 4 years ago and told you was a risk then. Put the fucker in jail. You have every damned reason to do it.

because he can't be trusted. There are something like 8 more top secret levels above the Presidency and are on need to know basis only. So, let's pray they've only been giving him information they actually want divulged. But not letting him know that. He's a useful tool in some capacity.

Yes, he's POTUS and under normal circumstances, regardless of whether or not I agree with their politics, I can understand it. I never had a President I thought would sell us out to benefit himself (I was born after the Nixon years). Even Dumbya I thought at least loved the country despite being one of the dimmer bulbs in the lot and being on a destructive revenge tour for daddy.

Trump's bizarre love of Putin and dictators, as well as his debts to foreign countries and banks, should've been a deal breaker from Day 1. I just really can't help but feel like our national security and intelligence community blew it big time by allowing him to ever get his foot in the door. Add on top of that the absurd "executive immunity" theory Mueller, Barr, and others have pushed and it's made this a super dangerous time. NO WAY he would be fighting this hard to hold on, nor would state legislatures would be entertaining his dream of a coup, if the office wasn't protecting him from investigation and prosecution. He hates the job, it's only a grifting and protection racket for him, and I suppose on some level plays to his narcissism when he appears before his audience of unwashed supporters who think he's "fighting for the forgotten man" and kiss his ass.

Do they not understand that this is why he has been firing national security personnel, and replacing them with toadies? They're not just shredding evidence. They're sorting out whatever they can sell to make a buck. I really hope that the Secret Service has been bugging the shit out of Merde de Lardo and his other properties.

But it would be a mistake to give him detailed information after he leaves office. He wouldn't bother reading it, but he'd hand it off to Jared or someone who could figure out a way to monetize it.

Maybe they could keep producing his special TRUMP-centric briefing. Drone photos of him playing golf and getting a hole in one on every single hole. Reports of dictators around the world contemplating suicide because they miss their good friend Donald so very, very much.
