This time, it is different. Much has already been written and recorded.

All she ever said about it was:
"I was so sick. So pain-wracked. I prayed that God would just take me."
Thank God she survived.
She was the mother of the Priest that married me.
She was the mother of my Godfather.

(34,066 posts)Ever - even after the pandemic. My mother doesn't remember ever having influenza, but recently found some records from her mother that indicates she had it once, as a child. She's certainly never had it in her adult life (she's now 88).
