– Tweet of the day, from Dr. Syed A. Ahmad: “Just got an email from work that our hospital is full and all elective surgical cases have [been] cancelled. No transfers allowed to hospital. Driving home, passed a restaurant that was full. Shaking my head. Frustrated is an understatement.”

The Mayor orders "masks on everybody", with no authority to enforce it given to anybody. Basically it's a mandate with the force of a mosquito's sneeze.

We not only have the local wingers scoffing, we have the weekenders throwing their Covid-19 loads at us, too.

Mask wearing is really good in this area, not so much in other parts.

You’re in WI too, right?

And lived in that area from 1990-2015 and got the heck out. Stevens Point wasn’t bad but Wisconsin Rapids and Rudolph are pretty “backwoods”.

Good thing Governor Greg listens to Dannie Scott Goeb. Seems like only last summer he said 13,000 available beds would be plenty fine!

The hospital crisis is preventing top notch surgeons like him from performing life saving non-Covid procedures endangering more lives than from just Covid.

My mother was afraid she would wake up on thanksgiving morning to learn her brother had died.Meanwhile, they were performing triage, and apparently decided overnight that someone other than a 90+ year old man needed the bed.

They moved him to a short term care facility two hours away from his wife (who also has COVID), and his daughter, who also does some caregiving. The place they moved him to doesn't provide medical care, and doesn't have adequate staffing to provide routine physical care. He was apparently stable enough to move, but has developed respiratory symptoms.

Can't really blame them if they are.

(Answer: "Two: One to stick his finger in the socket and show that electrocution is a hoax, and the other to screw in the new light bulb." )
