Talking with my wife ,I'm thinking Congresswoman Katie porter speaker of the house

We have to move on mrs Pelosi had her moment we evolve and grow as a party. That is why I like Katie porter she is so intelligent and in their faces. My wife is still Nancy pelosi as my wife thinks she is tested. Over hot tea we can discuss how we feel. I feel Nancy time is over respectfully.

For that matter, so is AOC. They're both smart, talented women, but still green. It needs to be someone with lots of experience, street smarts, and has done favors for many people.

That's the idea behind the "favor bank" - someday I might need a favor from you, so I'm doing this thing for you now. Nancy Pelosi has that down to a science.

Just sayin'

I think Pelosi has done an excellent job, Schumer not so much. As for Katie, she's great, but she is also new in the institution, with so many "ahead" of her in terms of general and specific experience, so even if she got a majority of votes, there would also be extra challenges in dealing with egos. Is she capable? ABSOLUTELY. And Steny Hoyer, no matter how good he is, is not likely at this point to rise to the position of Speaker. He should set aside so someone younger gets a chance to train for leadership roles.

Pelosi has provided excellent leadership through very treacherous & tumultuous times. No one has her depth & breadth of experience. The speaker’s job is like bearding cats & requires an experienced hand. No one could do it better than Nancy. Going forward with such a slim margin, we’ll need her expertise to prevail.

the politicians play politics amongst themselves and the Speaker job is as much an alliance/team kind of thing as it is a popularity/job skill based contest. I like Katie, the way she handles herself and the approach she uses to illustrate her point. I like AOC's way of bringing the real world to Wash DC. Neither have been long enough on the job, in my opinion, to establish a strong enough backing to be selected Speaker. It doesn't matter what voters think, the decision belongs to House Democrats...……….

Just because she has had a few big moments in committee hearings doesn't mean she's ready to step in a Speaker. We are talking about the CEO of the House and the 3rd person in line to be President here. Putting that in the hands of anybody with 2 years of experience is nuts. Maybe she should try chairing a committe first and see how it goes.

From my old Contacts in the Dem Party, this Lady would be the bests person to succeed Pelosi. She might be a ton more aggressive and what our Party needs.

Build consensus, whip votes and strongarm people if necessary. It’s not a matter of just being a good congressperson, you have to be able to lead the party. Nancy Pelosi spent years building the relationships and acquiring the skills needed for the position. It’s not a thing just anyone can do.

Katie Porter is an excellent congressperson but I don’t know that she has the skills and gravitas for that position yet.

Everyone doesn't have both.

Katie Porter is awesome -I adore her. But she hasn't indicated any desire to do the Speaker's job, which would require her to stop doing the things she's proven extraordinary at - for example, being a kick-ass committee member - and focus on the inside baseball, cat-herding, vote counting, money raising tasks that Speakers must do.
