He is a lawyer first, though he has decent creditials this statement by Wray:

On June 4, 2020, Wray stated that "anarchists" like Antifa are "exploiting" George Floyd protests "to pursue violent, extremist agendas"

Shows a guy either dishonest, afriad of offending Mr. Tee, or misinformed. Any one of the three reasons make him a liability to be tossed for better FBI Leadership.

So unless Biden has a reason to sack him, he'll stay on. Other exec-branch appointees are expected to turn in their resignations at the change of an administration, but not the FBI head. I think Biden wants to keep him on at least for awhile because so much of the government has been so hollowed out, and he'll have so many others that he will have to replace.

Honestly, Wray hasn't been a problem. The FBI identified the threat to the Capitol and passed it on to Capitol Police.

He deserves a chance to see what he can do in a functional government and it's a bad precedent to set that the FBI director gets fired every time a President changes.

I believe that even with Trump putting pressure on him and him working under Barr, he has worked to keep the FBI as even-handed as possible under the conditions he faced. He likely will be relieved to work under Merrick Garland.

as the most significant rising threat before congress, even though Trump had his head on the chopping block multiple times. To date, I've seen nothing to show he was not acting professionally and pro-actively and even-handedly.

I can see why people feel that way, Trump has been a through and through corrupting force in the USA, so a feeling that there isn’t anyone appointed by him that is worthwhile is a pretty straightforward derivation. But Wray is an exception to that, he has done an honest job under difficult circumstances, and President Joe Biden appears to have recognized that.
