BTW - training for Green Jobs is "condescending" Fox this morning

So as Morning Joe was going on and on about Congressperson QAnon I flipped over to Fox.

The Keystone pipeline shutting down is really big shakes there. 11,000 jobs which I think became 12,000 while I was watching. The non-Douchey host said it was condescending to tell adults what they can learn.

Cut to segment in a diner in Knoxville. Not a mask in sight other than the staff. They asked the reporter about retraining for solar panels. He goes down the breakfast counter to a guy who he talked to earlier. This guy was working in “oil and gas” but moved to Tennessee 9 months ago to work at a nuclear reactor. They asked him about being retrained “I’m 50 years old. What are THEY going to teach me?”

Cut the Sen. Cotton saying that the retraining for great jobs “couldn’t be more condescending”.

So. There ya go. They convinced the their followers not to wear masks in a pandemic so not taking advantage of job training shouldn’t be too hard at all.

He told us that when the lumbering industry was facing some of these same issues, were given a choice to learn a new trade within the computer industry.

He said the "lumberjacks" got so mad they destroyed the computers that would have provide a better opportunity for them. They refused to learn a new trade.

Love that skit!

Seriously though, this is the problem with all of these people (and I would bet anything that most of them are MAGAts).

They are too ignorant and stubborn to change and grow so they stay stuck in patterns that are counter-productive and self-defeating, and then they start blaming everyone else (liberals, immigrants, minorities, gay people, women, etc.) for ruining their lives.

Wind Farms to build, Solar fields to plow!
Add a bunch of methane wells to cap, and a whole bunch of old, bad ideas that need to be cleaned up after.

"Mining is a way of life", so "I'll wait until mining comes back."

Comfort zones, fear, and well, ignorance.
