Mitt just spoke -- why did they put the sons in matching outfits? Came across a little "Osmond Family" to me.
Other than that, he did better today than Iowa night -- I think he had the teleprompters tonight -- I remember reading/hearing that in Iowa he didn't.

(137 posts)That's what makes him so robot-like, really -- he can speak glibly and confidently at times, and even make himself sound not unintelligent. But at his very best, you can see the gears turning underneath it all.

(137 posts)Roxbury, in the south-west of the state, Santorum has 56% of the vote! He must have friends in Roxbury. Or more likely, paid for everyone's dinner that night he showed up at the local equivalent of Iowa's Pizza Ranch.

(62,269 posts)Huntsman won't get much in SC because he's not crazy enough. The crazies may just well go for Ron Paul. Especially because Ron Paul voted for fundamentalist legislation, and indeed, doesn't believe in Separation of Church and state.
Very interesting times ahead, as this may be Ron Paul's race to fight.

(137 posts)That is a nice addition to a victory that was expected. It gives him at least a little bit of a wind at his back -- gives him a little Mo into SC and Florida.

(20,450 posts)Though Romney won, he did worse than McCain (49%), worse than Hillary (39%), worse than Kerry (38%), and worse than Bush in 2000 (forgot the % he cited).
Given the facts that:
a. He has a home in NH.
b. He's been campaigning in NH now for 8+ years.
c. He's running against a bunch of batshit charlatans (save Huntsman).
Mittens should have wiped the floor with everyone! He should be winning with at least 50%.
He did better tonight than in IA, but that's really lowering the bar.
I'd also like to see turnout results.

(137 posts)I think the Repubs are about ready to go with this on their lawns --
He was at 20, 25% in the polls forever as everyone always pointed out. He's climbing up.

12 delegates, all awarded proportionally, but you have to get at least 10%. So here is the allocation based on % of the vote:
0-9% 0 delegates
10-12% 1 delegates
13-20% 2 delegates
21-29% 3 delegates
30-37% 4 delegates
38-45% 5 delegates
46-54% 6 delegates
If there are any left over, after the allocation, the winner gets them.

(137 posts)he will get one delegate, or none based on just a few votes.

(137 posts)Romney's doing well tonight, but he'll still have people nipping at his heels -- as Ron Paul said actually -- that he was "nipping at his heels."
Hunstmania to SC, Santor-mentum will be there for sure, along with Kamikaze Newt, and the Ronulans aren't going anywhere.
Plus, even Perry -- truly, the "1%" tonight -- has tons of money to burn through.

(137 posts)On Fox -- Hannity quotes Perry's recent anti-Bain quotes back at him, asks Perry what's up, it sound "more like OWS" than "conservative" says Hannity --
In response, Perry says "Venture Capitalists, Yes; VULTURE CAPITALISTS, no."
Even PERRY's using the V-word!
