We've lost the line . . we've lost the line . . . I'm bawling now.

For those not watching, they just played the audio of an officer calling out a warning to his fellow officers, he's clearly in tears/grief because they couldn't hold the line and telling others to retreat for safety and that finally just did it. I can't stop crying now.

I hurt so much for the brave people who suffered so horribly in defense of our democracy, and I'm afraid of the rage I hold for the fucking Trump bastards I see flying their TRAITORS flags on my way to work every day.

The order to withhold all their tactical gear came from high up re food chain and no one makes a move without Trump's approval and direction.

They must have known Trump had thrown them all under the bus to protect his thugs and give then free access to the Capital. They were supposed to wreck havoc, to intimidate and terrorize the politicians and staff.

The mob thought they had the OK to beat up anyone they caught. They were looking to take hostages and execute Trump's enemies and there would be no one to stop them.

Two cops committed suicide shortly afterward. Was it because they knew Trump had set the up and they couldn't stop the mob?

I can't imagine how the realization of that would feel, facing death.

re-watch the old videos and see the new ones because I recall bawling my eyes out and shaking so hard I couldn't speak on that 1/6; the pure evil attacking the chambers, then signaling a search and targeting specific individuals including Madam Speaker and the VP - the eyes are dry today, but the sickening feeling in the gut remains.

I felt that before, when goofy GOP*43 invaded another sovereign nation, Iraq. I made arrangements to attend the planned protest w/family members and piled in the car that day in January. The weather wasn't good as we watched the thermometer register 14 degrees below zero before we headed down the other side of the mountains. So surprising it was in the 40s in DC. I was ready; alas, we arrived as the speakers and march ended, returned to our accommodations after a bit of sightseeing, had a nice birthday dinner and returned home next day.

I can understand the feeling that one's presence and voice is required, but neither did I feel like a brainwashed protester bent on violence and insurrection! We learn to see how things play out, hoping to have made a difference.

"The Jan. 18, 2003, demonstration filled up a vast expanse of the Mall west of the Capitol building, which houses the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives. The Washington Post described the Jan. 18 demonstration as the largest anti-war protest since the end of the Vietnam War."

It's the most horrible thought that these thugs allowed evil violence to try to usurp the results of our Constitutional electoral process and our democratic republic because a POTUS said to do it! From the day of his oath, he did the least required of that oath, indeed, failed during the most vulnerable time period of his service(?) to America - certifying the vote during the transition! POS!

That monster and the participants need to be made accountable to the highest consequences! JUST HORRIBLE!
