All jokes aside, lets talk about it without memes and jokes.
One, I don't believe a shred of the "CNN reports a Trump adviser says Trump ate toast with jam this morning..."
In Palm Beach, he's surrounded by loyalists and the only "word" that gets out is leaked on purpose.
SO what's he up to? His well known reputation for vengeance has me thinking he's plotting his next moves. But why the silence?
1) Laying low during Impeachment Trial. Opening his mouth may have been just enough to make 17 GOP'ers shut him the hell up.
2) Without Twitter, he's creating an intentional void and a social media vacuum. I expect him to be pushing a new Social Media app soon, a Trumpy Gab, Parler or TikTok looking thing.
3) Has his 757 been brought in for service yet? One of it's engines was past-due for maintenance and FAA laws don't allow an aircraft to be flown without current checks so it was stuck in NJ iirc. He's got the Citation X, of course but he wants to roll up in the big bird.
4) In negotiations for sale of properties? I think he wants to remove all physical and economic presence from NY and other blue States/Cities. I expect to see Trump Tower in NYC sold this year.
5) I expect him to announce the formation of a new SuperPAC and probably a Presidential run sooner rather than later although I don't believe he'll run in 24. Why, you ask? Because if he announces a run he takes on an (kinda) umbrella of protection from lawsuits and prosecution as being "motivated to damage a political opponent".
As a student of history, it's all delicious to watch.
This is the real-life equivalent to the story of Frankenstein's monster. All the little Frankensteins over the last 40 years, Bill Kristol, Steve Schmidt, Glenn Beck, BushCo, etc etc... have been working on a project in the basement to aide them in accomplishing their blue blooded, war loving neo-con bullshit. The project paid off when the monster went into action as the Tea Party and took over DC.
But today, the monster is on the loose and can't be brought back to the lab.

(9,998 posts)FAA laws? He doesn't give a shit about "laws." Those are for people who get held accountable.

(12,426 posts)Pilots risking careers, tower would never give clearance to move on the runway. That birds not going anywhere without the FAA thumbs up.

(19,023 posts)Doesnt matter who he is, that plane will not fly without the proper maintenance. And it probably needs a few million in work.
What Im interested about though is how he monetized the presidency. What deals does he cash in on now that hes out. Surely he made many deals and sold many aspects of the presidency.

Might be a good gig for him (if he can sit back and let management do its job without too much interference).

(20,135 posts)Subscriptions? A large portion of his Twitter followers were bots, so that probably wont make much.
Ads? Youd have to find enough big companies willing to advertise there. Some right wing companies would but I doubt most mainstream ones would touch it.
Id love to see him do it though. Another failed business to add to his resume.
Laelth
(32,017 posts)He collects plenty from his brain-dead followers. What he really wants is a platform to get the attention and adoration that he craves. Owning his own Twitter-clone would make him very happy (to the extent that he can BE happy, which is very limited).

(53,410 posts)and hes forced to address at least some of them. He has to deal with Florida not allowing him to live in Maralago pretty quickly. I guess he can drag it out by using squatters rights, but he also has to decide what to do with all his properties around the world.
I assume he needs much more money than what he gets from his blue collar base. He may be juggling money. Using what he gets from one thing to pay for another. I have my doubts that hes as rich as he likes everyone to think.
He may be scraping the bottom of the money barrel and his erstwhile tricks are no longer paying off. And lawyers may be really hard to come by now so he has to deal with all the legal letters himself. You know, the ones that are telling him hes being sued for hundreds of past crimes, and him not being able to find legal representation.
His children have basically become whining pariahs and may be useless in raising any funds for him or themselves.
But the real biggy is that Putin may not be taking his calls now.

(16,925 posts)he's busy on 2 fronts:
1. His political dream....
Where to go from here (run again or not), be some type of 'figure-head' for "some" party - the RepubliCons that want to stay with him or something that he'll make up if enough suckers will cough up enough money. Another part of his 'political dream' is to extract revenge on those in the RepubliCon party that dared to oppose him or not drink the Kool-aid as he expected. There WILL be ugly parts about all of this in the coming weeks/months.
2. The "Legal shit"...
He escaped conviction at his second impeachment trial and he'll NEVER get out from under the fact that he was the first and only president to be impeached twice.
However, now that that is out of the way - let the charges/suits/attorneys begin their onslaught! All of the women - all of the tax issues - all of the voter fraud charges - all of the corrupt business issues - his wee-little brain has to be doing flips and spins trying to keep up with all of them.
No, he's not going into retirement quietly - he's got a whole lot of issues pressing down real hard on the wee little brain - and it couldn't happen to a more deserving SOB.......
MOMFUDSKI
(5,483 posts)and I am just HOPING that CNN, MSNBC et al ignore that fat yellow clown and keep his pic off my TV. He deserves as much air time as any other previous presidents got (not a helluva lot) and not a minute more. But ratings . . . and dollars . . . .
salin
(48,955 posts)Day to day he is probably mostly doing what he did in the WH - watching "all the shows", but without twitter to respond on - he probably just yells at the tv, and picks up the phone to whine and strike out to anyone who will still take his calls (think Graham.)
I also imagine him, as he was described as his casinos were going into bankruptcy and his company collapsing, that he would spend hours looking at swaths of cloth (?) for decorating some project or another - in order to not dwell too long on the reality that he was in.
WarGamer
(12,426 posts)So yeah, he'll be selling off properties.
