So much for "guns prevent crime"

https://www.rawstory.com/shooting/?utm_source=push_notifications

To make things as short as possible, some fucking idiot walked into Jefferson Gun Outlet, Metairie, LA, pulled out a pistol with extended magazine, and started shooting up the place. He killed two people, turned around and left. Then a bunch of the other customers in the store chased after him and blew his shit away.

Which one of them was the "good guy" with the gun?

Good grief!

There was a community college shooting north of me a few years ago. There was indeed a man with a concealed carry permit and a loaded gun on campus when the shooting broke out. He was smart enough to know that if he chose to try to take on the active shooter, when the police arrived, they wouldn't know which one was the "good guy". He got the heck away from the shooting area and kept his gun concealed. (I guess that begs the question - what does he need the gun for in the first place?)

This is horrific.

The "good guys with guns" stopped the "bad guy with a gun," but it would have been really nice if they'd have stopped him BEFORE he finished killing people.

And yes, you are quite correct: this is horrific.

In the Raw Story article they quoted a man who had been in a concealed carry class off the salesfloor when the massacre occurred. He wanted to know why anyone would shoot up this gun store, because "everybody's strapped in there."

For self defense, of course. Emphasis on "self".

It happened then they stopped it. Wrong way around isn't it?
